Who we are

Our approach

The people we work with have experienced difficulties in their life. Our staff work with them to make a positive practical difference. We are reliable, honest and help people to feel safe.

We know lots of people like to meet us face to face and prefer a shorter appointment. Sometimes it’s nice to get away from offices and formal environments, so we’re happy to meet people where it’s convenient and comfortable for them. Walk in the park? Lovely. Coffee shop? Great.

Our charity

We are a charity and are registered with the Charity Commission. Our governing documents and accounts are publicly available.

A Board of Trustees has overall responsibility for the charity. Trustees are not paid or employed by the charity. Our Trustees are:

  • Grace Shepherd, Chair
  • Theo Michael, Treasurer
  • Karen O’Neill, Trustee
  • Joe Batty, Trustee

We follow good charity practice and are members of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. We treat people fairly, following good employment and volunteer practice. We follow NHS pay bands and all staff are paid above the hourly London Living Wage.

We are funded by national and local government, public bodies, charitable trusts and public donations.

Staff and volunteers

We have rigorous recruitment procedures and take staff and volunteer training and support seriously. Everyone is provided with appropriate supervision and development opportunities. We retain human resource experts to help us manage people effectively and keep up with employment law advances. Our staff are:

  • Leigh Andrews, Head of Speech and Language Therapy Development
  • Nana Asamoah, Speech and Language Therapist
