What is Change Communication?

Change Communication supports people and organizations to understand more about homelessness, health and communication. 

Why do you record my information?

Change Communication records information to ensure:

  • accurate information is available to work with you.

  • we work effectively with others.

  • you receive the best possible service.

We use the following reasons as the legal basis for recording your information.

  • we have a legitimate interest in the matter.

  • we seek to protect the vital interests of an individual.

What information is recorded by Change Communication? 

Information includes:

  • personal details e.g. name and contact details.

  • some sensitive data e.g. information about any relevant support needs.

  • details about other relevant organisations.

How is the information used?

Information is used to deliver services to you. Unless you request otherwise we annonymise all information used to:

  • raise funds to support our work.

  • produce statistics and reports.

  • carry out research to help others better understand homelessness, health and communication.

Change Communication does not sell or exchange information.

Who can see this information?

We share information on a ‘need to know’ basis with organisations and staff that:

  • work with you or may do so.

  • fund and plan services that work with you or may do so. 

  • work to keep you and others safe in emergency situations.

How long will my information be kept? 

Change Communication keeps your information for as long as it is needed to work with you. Generally, we will delete your information two years after you last engaged with us. Your information is kept in restricted systems and files, and electronic data is encrypted. We delete or shred your data after it is no longer required.

What are my rights?

You have the right to:

  • be told about the processing of your information.

  • see a copy of your information within one month of requesting provided we have been able to confirm who you are.

  • correct information that we hold.

  • object to your information being processed.

  • request your information is deleted.
